Sections
Master, U2000, U1700, and U1300. Top 3 sections are CFC & FIDE rated. U1300 only CFC rated.
Compositions of the sections:
Master - rating 2000 or higher;
U2000 - with ratings from 1700 to 1999;
U1700 - with ratings from 1300 to 1699;
U1300 - with ratings 1299 and below, and unrated adults;
For an additional Play-up fee – 20 CAD – a player can enter the higher Section if his/her rating is within 100 points than the Section floor limit.
Play-up ratings for sections:
Master - 1900-1999;
U2000 - 1600-1699;
U1700 - 1200-1299;
The highest rating of CFC or FIDE is used for pairings and section selection. Other ratings (except online) might be considered, please contact organizers for your special case.
Format
5 Round Swiss. Pairing software – SwissManager. Two half-point byes may be requested in advance for Rounds 1-4.
Prizes
Monetary prizes in Master, U2000, U1700, and U1300 sections. For unrated players max prize is 100 CAD.
The prize monies depends on the number of players in total and in sections. Thus, we can not provide exact amounts for particular sections.
Time Control
90 minutes per player + 30 seconds per move starting from move one. Default time is 30 min, except the first round - 60 minutes. (FIDE rules 6.7.1 “Any player who arrives at the chessboard after the default time shall lose the game unless the arbiter decides otherwise.”)
Entry fees
Paid by October 18 (Friday 11:59 pm) - 100 CAD
Paid by October 23 (Friday 1 pm) - 130 CAD
After 1 pm October 23 - 150 CAD; paired for Round 2 (1/2 bye for Round 1)
GM, WGM, IM and WIM free entry if confirmed by October 14th. Please send the email to info@aucc.club or submit the message in the form at the bottom.
