2022 Newmarket Chess Day – details

On Saturday June 4th, 2022.

Location: Newmarket Public Library (438 Park Avenue, Newmarket, Ontario L3Y 1W1)

4 round CFC regular rated tournament in one section.

Eligibility: no rating restrictions, players shall have the CFC membership (it's possible to pay dues at www.chess.ca)

Format: 4 round Swiss system tournament (Swiss-Manager pairing software)

Time control: 55 min + 5 sec

Schedule

Pairing - 8:45
Round 1 – 9:00
Round 2 – 11:00 (or ASAP)
Lunch Break
Round 3 – 14:00
Round 4 – 16:00 (or ASAP)

 

The tournament is rated by the CFC standard rating system.

Prizes

(based on 50 paid players)

  1. $300
  2. $250
  3. $200
  4. $100
  5. $50

(Money prizes will be shared among the players with the same sum of points.)

Registration

Entry fees:

  • Regular - $30 prior to June 4, 2022.
  • At the door - $50 on the tournament day before 8:30 am.

Cancellation: refunded paid entry fee minus $5 if cancelled before June 2, 2022. Later on - no refund.
