Melting Snow will start on Feb 10.

It will be a five round tournament. All players who played in Deep Snow will be transferred automatically.

Blitz tournament on Feb 18

On Tuesday, Feb 18 (after Family Monday), the club will organize a Blitz tournament – with Premier and Reserve sections. The time control will be 3 min + 2s. The Swiss system pairings of 7 rounds for Premier and 5 rounds for Reserve.

Players in Premier must have a valid CFC membership – the section will be rated by CFC and FIDE in Quick/Blitz systems. Players in Reserve are juniors (<=20y) with the CFC ID # – the section will be rated by the CFC in Quick rating system.

Prizes – monetary and medals (maybe trophies if they’ll come on time)

Registration fee – $20; free to club members. Registration options: the registration sheet will be available on Monday (Feb 10), by email, Feb 18 – 18:00-18:30 pm.

We are a chess club located in the town of Aurora, Ontario. In November 2011, a small group of players decided that the town of Aurora needed a dynamic chess club where people could meet, connect and play. May 2012 saw the club formed as a non-profit initiative to benefit our community. We are an independent entity that welcomes anyone who shares a love for this wonderful game.
